Benefits of Journaling:

  1. Emotional Release:  You are able to express emotions and thoughts safely and privately.

  2. Reduces Stress:  Writing can be relaxing and calming.

  3. Increases Confidence:  Allowing yourself to get rid of your negative thoughts on paper creates a space for self-confidence.

  4. Improves Self-Awareness – Taking the time to write allows you to get to know yourself.  How would you handle a situation differently?  Did you learn something about yourself?  How are you going to write your life?  What are your dreams?

Below are some additional journaling questions that allow for self-discovery:

  • Write about a time in your life that you will never forget.

  • Write about a time you felt lonely.

  • What is your greatest fear in life?

  • What would the best day of your life look like?

  • If you had a magic wand, what would you change in your life?  What would you make happen in your life?
