Rainbow Breathing
Have you seen a rainbow recently? We never tire of looking for the colorful promise that EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY. We know that after every life storm, a rainbow peeks out to remind us of this. Take a deep inhale and breathe in these words, “Everything is going to be okay.” This video gives students a six minute opportunity to practice breathing while stretching their body like a rainbow.
Integrating Science
- A rainbow is a multi-colored arc that forms in the sky.
- The 7 colors of a rainbow in the order are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet (the acronym ROYGBIV.)
- A rainbow is not something you can physically touch.
- Rainbows are created by both reflection and refraction (bending) of light in water droplets in the atmosphere, which results in a spectrum of light appearing.
- Create your very own rainbow by trying this fun rainbow experiment!
Integrating Math
- The full arc of a circle measures 360 degrees. What would a semi-circle measure?
