Focus, Breathe, Begin Again
Teaching is full of interruptions.
A student calls your name.
Your to-do list grows.
Your mind jumps from one thing to the next.
Before you know it… you’re feeling scattered.
The truth is—focus isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about noticing when you’ve drifted… and gently guiding yourself back.
Again and again.
Just like we remind our students, we need that same reminder too 💛
A Simple Practice for Focus
This week, I invite you to try this:
✨ Pick a soft focus point
Let your eyes gently rest on one spot (a wall, a tree, even your desk). This is called drishti in yoga—it helps steady your mind.
✨ Breathe slowly and naturally
Inhale… exhale… no need to change anything. Just notice your breath.
✨ Move gently (or stay still)
Even a small shift, like standing in balance or sitting tall, can help bring you back.
✨ Use supportive self-talk
Try: “I am focused.”
Simple. Calm. True.
✨ Begin again (as many times as needed)
Got distracted? That’s okay.
That moment you notice? That’s your power.
Start again—without judgment.

I created a short, calming practice just for you.
In this class, we:
• Use our gaze to build concentration
• Connect breath with gentle movement
• Practice Tree Pose lying down and standing
• Soothe the nervous system
• And most importantly… practice beginning again
This is your space to reset, refocus, and take care of you.

A Final Thought
You don’t need more time.
You don’t need to do it perfectly.
You just need a moment…
to pause, breathe, and begin again.
And the beautiful thing?
You can do that anytime.
Even right now.
